The winners of the annual Key Cup Tournament at Key Royale Golf Club in Holmes Beach played on Dec. 10. The tournament, which attracted 48 golfers, was played with a similar format to the Ryder Cup. Divided into two teams of 24 each, the teams played two nine-hole match play events. The red team prevailed over the green team 13 1/2 to 10 1/2 to win the event, with each red team member receiving a coveted drinking cup. In the closest to the pin contest on Hole #3, Helen Pollock won at 22′ 8″ for the ladies. Bob Rowley won for the men at 12′ 1″. On Hole #8, Dolly Darish was closest to the pin at 25′ for the ladies and Rob Perkins was closest for the men at 11″ 2″. Debi Wohlers won the long drive contest for the ladies, while Brian Hogan bested all the men.
