Before the action started at Anna Maria Horseshoes on Dec. 17, Jay Disbrow presented a check for $800 to Tricia O’Brien from Meals on Wheels Plus of Manatee on behalf of the pitchers, carrying on a longstanding tradition by the group of donating to local charities. Then Bob Hawks made quick work of the competition after posting the only 3-0 record during pool play, earning the day’s bragging rights.
