The Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce in Holmes Beach held its annual Trail of Treats Halloween celebration in the Chamber parking lot on Friday, Oct. 30.
The Friday afternoon gathering included a costume contest with four age groups and several subcategories.
Chamber members handed out candy and after the costume contest ended, many attendees headed across the street to visit the participating businesses in The Island Shopping Center, with the Anna Maria Island Privateers serving as the Marina Drive crossing guards. The Trail of Treats also included a few participating businesses in Anna Maria, and also the Roser Church.

As the Chamber event came to an end, Chamber President Amber Tipton said, “Today we had a great turnout with lots of island kids and families. It was nice to see everyone come to the chamber for our costume contest and now they are out on the island hopefully visiting the businesses who are participating. We do this to support the community businesses on the island for the kids and the families on the island. It’s outreach from the Chamber.”
