ANNA MARIA ISLAND – Residents need a valid re-entry tag to cross the Manatee Avenue bridge, the Cortez Road bridge or the Longboat Pass bridge to Anna Maria Island after a hurricane evacuation.
Tags, which carry expiration dates, are available from all three cities at Anna Maria City Hall, Bradenton Beach City Hall and the Holmes Beach Police Department.
One tag per residence is issued, so those who evacuate with more than one vehicle will only be allowed to bring one back onto the Island immediately after a storm.
City officials urge residents to get tags before a storm approaches to avoid long lines. Bring identification to prove residency or property ownership on the Island.
